Numerous showers in progress over North and NW Alabama.

Draw a line from Livingston to Eutaw-Tuscaloosa-Cullman and most areas north of that line were getting showers late this afternoon. At 4:20 pm, this included a line of heavy showers from North Of Columbus, Miss., into NW Alabama near Hamilton. There were also a few thunderstorms mixed in.

The numerous showers and thunderstorms will continue as a strong cold front approached from the NW. Strong SW winds much of today were caused by a strong low pressure through approaching from the west and thunderstorms were not involved.

However, the NWS/SPC has North Alabama outlooked for a slight risk overnight. The area is north of about the Tuscaloosa-Birmingham-Anniston line.

Late this afternoon, most of the Severe Thunderstorm Warnings were coming from the NWS in St. Louis and Paducah, Ky. SPC has a Moderate Risk for:

Extreme West Tennessee
West half of kentucky
Missouri Bootheel
Extreme South parts of Illinois and Indiana
