The GFS did not pick up on this system this morning. It did depict a system moving through the Bahamas early next week, brushing North Carolina then hitting New England in about two weeks.
The GFS had cooled on its idea of developing a tropical cyclone in the Gulf later this week. It had predicted a tropical storm moving toward the Florida Big bend area by the weekend.
The models seem to have a good handle on keeping Hurricane Katia offshore of the U.S., passing it east of Cape Cod by Friday morning then brushing the Canadian Maritimes.
