Our concern here in the Southeast is severe weather with the severe thunderstorm and tornado variety. Please scroll down for the latest information about that. During the next 24 hours, this will be a time that you can scroll way, way down the blog list and still get information that is still valid. It will be a busy, busy time.

At mid-morning, the nearest warnings of severe weather were coming out of Tulsa, Paducah, Louisville and Oklahoma City.

But other sections of the USA dealing with another winter onslaught. Here is a small sample. It is much more widespread than this:

ST LOUIS
Freezing rain and sleet starting this evening with 2 to 4 inches of snow. Ice accumulation (freezing rain) less than 1/10th of an inch but you can do some nice slipping and sliding on that.

CHICAGO
37 inches of snow already this season in the Windy City. Normal so far is 23 inches, (They are nowhere near the windiest city in the USA. Ask Cheyenne, Laramie, Cut Bank and Wolf Creek, Mont., just to name a few. Now Chicago is at it again with winter. Winter Storm Warning tonight and all day Wednesday. Windy, with blowing snow after midnight, gusts to 35 mph and snow accumulations 5 to 9 inches through tomorrow.

DETROIT AREA
Heavy snow late tonight through mid-day Wednesday. 4 to 9 inch snow accumulation. Snow may mix with a “significant accumulation” of sleet along the I-69 Corridor.

CASCADES OF NORTH OREGON AND SOUTH WASHINGTON
Tons of snow. 15 to 25 inches through early tomorrow. Lots of blowing and drifting snow.

Again, this is only four examples. There are many, many more but did not want to make the blog post too long.
