The morning MCS rolls along. The warning for Pickens/Greene/Tuscaloosa counties has expired. The storms over West Alabama are producing very heavy rain and lighting, but for now there is no evidence of damaging winds or large hail. And, there is no tornado threat. Lots of creepy looking shelf clouds, but those cloud formations are not related to tornadoes.

Looks like the storms could clip the western and southern part of the Birmingham metro area as they move to the east/southeast within the hour. Storms should slowly weaken, but they are still going to produce rain for a while. The sky should become partly sunny by afternoon.
