**No Weather Xtreme video this morning due to the active weather; I will have one posted later today by 3:30 if things calm down**
MARGINAL TORNADO THREAT: Despite a pre-dawn tornado watch being issued, there has been no severe weather in Alabama overnight as expected. But, during the day today, a marginal severe weather threat will exist across our state.
SPC outlines the greatest risk of isolated tornadoes along I-59 from near Eutaw down to Slidell, LA over the next couple of hours…
Eyes in Alabama are on the storm over Clarke County, Mississippi that has shown signs of rotation…
If this holds together, it might require a tornado warning for northern Choctaw or southern Sumter County in West Alabama. But, we note instability values are lower over Central Alabama, so the storm could very well weaken.
BOTTOM LINE: We have marginal instability and shear values for severe weather today, and we don’t expect major issues. SPC defines the actual slight risk of severe weather today for mainly Southeast Alabama this afternoon during the peak of the daytime heating process. Otherwise, occasional showers and storms are likely today statewide, with additional rain amounts of one inch possible.
COLDER TOMORROW: Sunshine returns tomorrow along with a cool north breeze and a high only in the mid 50s. Then, by Friday morning with a clear sky and light wind, we expect a low in the 30 to 35 degree range for most places. Friday promises to be sunny and cool with a high around 60.
WARMER WEEKEND: We warm into the mid 60s Saturday and low 70s Sunday. Enough moisture returns Sunday for some risk of showers, but they should be widely spaced.
THANKSGIVING WEEK: Looks warm and humid for at least the first half of the week, with highs in the low to mid 70s. The sky will be cloudy at times Monday though Wednesday with a few showers possible, but nothing really widespread. Showers seem a little more likely Wednesday night into Thanksgiving Day, but rain amounts probably won’t be too heavy with limited upper support and a weakening cold front. Black Friday looks a little cooler and dry for now.
