The line of strong thunderstorms now moving through the Birmingfham area.
The strongest part of the line is mostly within Jefferson County extending from near Morris and Warrior in the north across Downtown Birmingham and just east of downtown to near Oak Mountain State Park.
Could easily get gusts to 40 mph or more when they move through along with dangerous lightning and brief downpours.
Gust to 56 mph at the Downtown Birmingham SkyCam atop the Daniel Building around 5:25 pm.
East Jefferson County is in line for these storms very soon including Warrior, Palmerdale, Pinson, Center Point, Trussville, Irondale, Leeds Homewood and Mountain Brook just to name a few.
