Widespread rain continues across Alabama late this morning. Two parts of the state are getting more rain than others. One is near the coast near Mobile and Baldwin County into NW Florida.

Further north there was a rather wide band of moderate rain over the central part of the state. Some of the heavier rain extended from East Tuscaloosa County eastward into St. Clair and Shelby Counties as well as south Jefferson County. All of the rain is moving toward the ENE.

The rain is not extremely heavy. At Birmingham Airport, only 0.12 fell in the last hour. The same amount occurred at the Tuscaloosa Airport.

It is a chilly rain over most of Alabama. 10 o’clock temperatures were only 41 to 45 across the Tennessee Valley, 47 in Birmingham, mid 50s around Montgomery, but close to 60 around Mobile.

It still looks like much of Alabama will get a soaker in the next 24 hours. Many areas could receive up to 2 inches.

GOING NORTH?
Be advised that all is not good when you get well north of Alabama. Just one example, in Louisville there is an Ice Storm Warning through tomorrow morning. Travel will get very hazardous.
