With upper-level dynamics and air overrunning the warm front to our SW, another area of moderate to heavy rain is approaching central Alabama from the SW.
Another inch or two of rainfall is likely in many areas, including BHM, as this rain moves in over the next few hours. Many spots have already received over 1″ of rain since since this morning, and by the time this rain event is over tomorrow night, a few places may receive over 4″. If we can have a few more of these systems over the next couple of months, the longer-term drought will really start to improve, as lakes will fill up again and soil moisture will increase. Things are already improving.
