The weather pattern will remain active early this week, with another strong cold front moving through Alabama tomorrow morning. Out ahead of it, strong southerly winds will bring in Gulf moisture. This system looks a little like the one on Friday, in that the wind shear and the best instability will not come through at the same time. And, the storm will come through in the early morning hours tomorrow, without the heat of the day.

Strong storms will develop in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi this afternoon/evening. They will likely weaken somewhat as they move into Alabama after midnight, but we can’t rule out an isolated severe storm or two around here early Tuesday morning.

The biggest story with this weather system will likely be the cold air coming in behind it. Temperatures will drop through the 50s and into the 40s Tuesday, and reach the 20s by Wednesday morning. Wind chills may be as low as 10-15. With lingering moisture and an upper-level disturbance, a few snow flurries are possible Tuesday night. Some places in the mountains of NE Alabama may see a dusting of snow by Wednesday morning! Temperatures may not even make it out of the 30s on Wednesday, with 20s again Thursday morning.
