A great, soaking rain over a number of counties in North Central Alabama late tonight.
Not a frog-strangler but a drought-strangler.
Extensive moderate to heavy rain was falling just after midnight from Tuscaloosa and Birmingham northward into the Tennessee Valley around Huntsville.
Strongest thunderstorms were down in SW Alabama.
We will post some 24 hour rain totals later this morning, say 7 or 8 am.
