It looks like another gravity wave has formed near the back edge of the rain this morning, with a narrow band of heavy rain moving through BHM over the past 30 minutes, and then the rain quickly cutting off behind that. At the back edge of the rain, the downdrafts that are drying up the rain are causing falling pressures and strong NE wind gusts. These winds could gust in places over 50 mph and do some wind damage.
The NWS has issued a high wind warning.
