Main line of thunderstorms still over in Mississippi.
At 5:30 am, the line extended almost due north-south from near Oxford south to Eupora to about half way between Jackson and meridian to near Hattiesburg in the south.
NWS/Jackson has Tornado Warning for East Leake County in Central Mississippi and North Neshoba in East central Mississippi. This includes the city of Philadelphia.
Here in Alabama, some individual storms have developed ahead of the main line. One was over North Pickens County and another over South Lawrence County in NW Alabama.
Look for the line of thunderstorms to reach West Alabama around 7 to 8 am and to the general area around Birmingham by mid-morning.
Not counting thunderstorms, there will be some strong and gusty south winds today.
Good chance that a Tornado Watch will be posted for parts of Alabama later this morning, probably around 7 or so. Especially for parts of West Central and NW Alabama.
