A line of strong thunderstorms was moving steadily east and SE across North and West Alabama very early on this Tuesday morning.
At 3:30 a.m., the line of storms extended from near Scottsboro in NE Alabama southwestward to near Cullman, Jasper and Fayette into Pickens County.
Lots of heavy rain and plenty of lightning along this line of storms, but so far no warnings have been issued in Alabama.
Between now and 4:30 this morning, the thunderstorms will reach Gadsden, Oneonta, Birmingham, Tuscaloosa and Eutaw. Look for strong gusty winds and very heavy rain.
We will watch this closely the rest of tonight.
Overall, the storms are not as strong as they were earlier in the night. The Storm Prediction Center has posted a Slight Risk of severe weather today over SW Alabama as well as about the south half of Mississippi and most of Central and South Louisiana.
