Storms have been growing in intensity over eastern Mississippi for the past hour or so, and now they have bubbled over into West Alabama southern Pickens County.
The strongest core is passing south of Aliceville. It will move into northern Greene County soon.
The storms behind it will eventually affect parts of Sumter, southern Pickens and Greene Counties in the next couple of hours. Nothing severe yet, but there is definitely a possibility of damaging wind gusts. Hail isn’t a problem yet.
Elsewhere, storms continue to be strong over parts of St. Clair County. Nothing really approaching severe levels right now. These storms are building back into Northern Jefferson County right now. Nice storms around Center Point and approaching Gardendale from the west.
Part of the St. Clair County storms are moving into Talladega County right now. Just had a report of some trees and power lines down in Talladega County.
Marion County storms are strong between Haleyville and Winfield, but no problems besides the heavy rain and lightning that all of the storms are producing.
