Showers and storms actually did start forming over southern Tennessee around mid-afternoon ahead of a weak frontal system that is slowly sinking south.
The storms moved into North Alabama around 4 p.m. and peaked around 6:30 p.m. They are slowly losing steam as we lose the heat of the day.
But they are making a little noise right now in Cullman County. They are moving across the City of Cullman with lightning and perhaps some small hail.
The storms are moving south, but may not make it to northern Jefferson County.
Showers over northern Blount County are weakening quickly.
