This interesting note from Weather watchers Lori and Nathan Jones from Pelham:

This weekend; Nathan (Jones) and I went camping at his hunting club. It’s located in Coosa County about 6 miles outside Rockford.

As we were riding the 4-wheeler on some of the trails way out in the woods we saw some roofing tin and roofing felt. We couldn’t figure out where it came from and what it was doing out there. We knew some of the severe weather came near the hunting club area and that perhaps there was some damage.

Nathan told one of the hunting club members about what we’d found and he said it was debris from the Prattville tornado.

His Daddy and his friend went to the hunting club about a day after the tornado to check and make sure nothing was damaged and they found a check from someone that’s address was in Prattville.

Plus FYI they found a Superbowl III Ticket!! We talked about the tornadoes track and it did indeed come right over the hunting club which is only about 25 miles from Prattville.

Next time we go back we are going to search for more debris; I know any paper products are gone but it’s just interesting to see what we can find.

I thought this was pretty interesting and wanted to share!!

PLEASE NOTE: In Tuesday afternoon’s edition of the E-Forecast and WeatherFax, I credited this debris as being from the Enterprise EF4 tornado on March 1 last year. Entirely my error and
I apologize to Lori and Nathan.

A bad, bad, bad senior moment for me…
