Severe weather is the main focus today.
At 5 am, showers, mostly light, were in progress over NW Alabama. However the main line of intense thunderstorms extended from near Nashville southwestward into North and West Mississippi.
A number of Severe Thunderstorm Warnings with that line of storms, however, there has not been a Tornado Warning since just before midnight in Arkansas.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch continues until 11 o’clock this morning for these five Extreme North and Northwest Alabama counties:
Colbert
Lawrence
Franklin
Lauderdale
Limestone
All of Alabama is included in a risk of severe weather today and tonight by the Storm Prediction Center. So far, it is posted as a “slight risk.” Even the word “slight” should be taken seriously.
