The SPC has posted a slight risk severe weather outlook (their standard severe weather forecast) for parts of Alabama and Mississippi.
Storms now over western Tennessee will push southeastward, encountering an increasingly unstable airmass as the sun heats the ground this morning. There is also just enough shear in the atmosphere to allow the storms this afternoon to have just a bit of organization. Throw in some dry air aloft, and you have a recipe for some damaging winds from microbursts today.
Keep and eye to the sky and keep your favorite sources of weather information close in case watches or warnings are required today.
