Around 8:30 tonight, the Storm Prediction Center canceled Tornado Watch #198 that had been in effect since 3:00 p.m. for parts of Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee.
NWS/Birmingham posted a Significant Weather Alert for Marengo County in West Alabama until 9:15. That special weather statement is short of a warning/
NWS/Birmingham extended the expiration time in part of the area for the Severe Thunderstorm Watch in Central and South Alabama. All of these counties are now under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 11:00 p.m.

* NWS/Birmingham reissued a warning for Randolph County until 9:00 p.m. This time it was a Severe Thunderstorm Warning instead of a Tornado Warning. However, at 8:44 p.m. they canceled that warning.
