A line of thunderstorms this evening extended from the east edge of Shelby County eastward across North Clay County and all the way into North Randolph County along the Georgia Border. Lightning and locally heavy rain and, no doubt some small hail.
Moving generally eastward.
The storms that were over East Jefferson County moved into St. Clair county and weakened.
Earlier these storms produced dime size hail and torrents of rain along Highway 70 at Highway 42 in Shelby County. (Not sure where Highway 42 is?)
Meanwhile, off to our west, rather widespread thunderstorms were in progress over South Mississippi and SE Louisiana. A Flash Flood Watch is posted for parts of Central Mississippi.
Some of those big storms now edging over into Choctaw and South Sumter County in SW Alabama.
NWS/Jackson issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 8:15 for Lauderdale County which includes the Meridian area.
Virtually all of Alabama included in a “Slight Risk” area for severe weather from the Storm Prediction Center. That can be much better defined early Sunday morning.
