Be sure and scroll down and see Brian’s morning video discussion. Brian is shivering in Chicago this morning where the temperature was 38 with a 12 mph sustained wind–some 26 degrees colder than Birmingham.
A general lull in thunderstorms across Alabama at this hour–in fact, practically none. Almost no lightning. However, quite a few showers linger across the north and a more general rain down south.
Already, showers, along with some thunderstorms were increasing again across North Mississippi and also a general increase near the Mississippi-Louisiana Coast.
The NWS/SPC (Storm Prediction Center) pulled back their slight risk of severe weather. Here is the latest:
TODAY AND TONIGHT
South Texas
South Louisiana including Baton Rouge and New Orleans
MONDAY
Small part of East Central Georgia
Most of the Carolinas, Virginia, Maryland
The Philadelphia area
BACK HOME IN ALABAMA
Showers and thunderstorms will be increasing again later today and they will become numerous tonight. Even though the “slight risk” area has been removed, it does not mean that a few individual storms may deserve a warning. Most, if not all of the showers should be gone from Central Alabama in time for Monday morning rush hour.
