The long line of thunderstorms that we have been tracking all night now extends from NW Alabama southwestward to near Columbus and Jackson in Mississippi and into Central Louisiana.

Moving eastward and appears to finally be moving a bit faster.

Thunderstorms are strong to severe along the lower part of the line in South Mississippi and Louisiana. However, the north part of the line has weakened somewhat.

The air over Central and East Alabama is more stable and that will help hold down the risk of an severe storms. They will still produce lots of lightning and heavy rain, however.

The line of storms may reach the Birmingham area around 6 am or later.

A Tornado Watch continues for a large part of Mississippi until 7 am, however, there are no watches in Alabama so far.
