Tim Coleman is our gravity wave expert, but based on observations over in western Mississippi and reports from the National Weather Service in Jackson, Miss., it sure looks like a gravity wave has developed on the back edge of the large rain mass moving across that state this morning.

It is possible that if this is really a gravity wave, we may feel the effects of it in western Alabama around lunchtime today.

Current wind reports in Greenville and Vicksburg show 25-30 knot sustained winds with gusts up to 40 knots.

We’ll be watching it!
