Severe Thunderstorm Warnings until 7:00 p.m. for the West Alabama counties of Greene, Hale, Marengo and Sumter.

Meanwhile, NWS/Huntsville has issued a new Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Cullman County until 7:00 p.m.

A report from Cuba near the Mississippi border advises that it is getting very dark with lots of ground-to-cloud lightning and one police unit on the Kemper/Lauderdale/Sumter County line was reporting strong hail.

The Storm Prediction Center in their 6:30 p.m. discussion advises the Severe Thunderstorm Watch will continue until 9:00 p.m.

Strong to severe storms with colliding boundaries are occurring due to storm outflow. All this may result in an increase in storm intensity near Columbus, Mississippi.

However, an overall downward trend in the severity of the storms may set in within the next one to two hours.
