I don’t have past records to prove it, but I don’t ever remember a day like Wednesday:

* 127 Tornado Warnings in one day (actually in 23 hours from midnight until 11 pm, CST) The warnings were posted all the way from the Central Plains and Midwest eastward to the Washington-Baltimore area. This included 100 Tornado Warnings from mid-afternoon until 11 pm!

* 87 Flash Flood Warnings were issued!

I did not count the Severe Thunderstorm Warnings but there were more of those than any other.

It would be interesting to know how many millions of people reacted to those warnings and the many anxious hours of being scared and alarmed.

Maybe it has happened before like in the Super Outbreak of April 1974. I just don’t know.

And, to make it worse, a significant outbreak of severe weather is expected today (Thursday) mainly from the Central Plains northward into the Upper Midwest.

Meanwhile, Alabama will remain calm and collected although too hot.
