That thunderstorm that produced a classic lightning display over Shelby County is slowly weakening and breaking up. What is left of the storm was over North Shelby County. A few spinoff showers of that storm are now over the NE part of Birmingham and East Jefferson County, but not much to them. Actually, a few of the heavier showers are now over East/Central Alabama in Tallapoosa and Lee Counties. Everything is moving slowly toward the north. Scroll down to the next post for a round up of some of the damage this afternoon and this evening.

Unless thunderstorms flare again, this will be our final update. It has been a busy, busy afternoon and evening. No time to relax, read, play ball with my puppy or take a nap. I don’t mind. I have been doing this for what seems like a century.
