Several strong thunderstorms are dumping heavy rain over parts of Jefferson, South Walker and the NE tip of Tuscaloosa County. Almost continuous thunder can now be heard in the Trussville area. It is pouring rain along the Tuscaloosa/Walker County line NE of Windom Springs and SW of Gorgas to near Oakman in Walker County. Heavy rain is also indicated along the Jefferson/Walker County line near Graysville.

The thunderstorm over NE Jefferson County is part of a line that extends almost due north through SW Blount County into Western Marshall County. These were some of the stronger thunderstorms across North and Central Alabama. Further south, still a lot of rain and thunderstorms from Chilton County and across the southern tier of counties. So far, 0.42 rain in downtown Birmingham and 0.77 at Jason Simpson’s home near Helena.
