Earlier this afternoon, there were several locations in Central Alabama that were seeing some fairly intense storms. Storms developed over northwestern Alabama and it moved off towards the southeast for several hours. This activity was associated with an outflow boundary that was sent out from convection over the Tennessee Valley this morning.

There are only a couple of areas still receiving rain currently. The most intense storm is affecting portions of Talladega County around Winterboro, Childersburg and Sycamore. There are also some showers in eastern Jefferson County around Leeds.

Over the next few hours, there could be a few more thunderstorms that develop, especially south of the Interstate 20 corridor where an outflow boundary continues to drop southeast. As we head into tomorrow, it looks as though we will once again see more scattered showers and thunderstorms across much of the state.
