As we continue to head throughout the day the rain will diminish across the state. The rain has ended for Fayette, Hamilton, Double Springs and Vernon.
The heaviest of the rain is falling east of Interstate 65 in Elmore, Coosa and Tallapoosa Counties. The rain will continue its movement to the east. Birmingham and Tuscaloosa can expect the rain to end over the next hour of so, but for Anniston and Gadsden it should be a few more hours.
The cold front has made it through the Interstate 59 corridor as the winds have shifted from the north at Birmingham, Tuscaloosa and Gadsden. Drier air will be settling in this afternoon and the weather should be much improved by this evening.
