The back edge of the rain is much further along than the edge of the clouds. Rain has ended north and west of Interstate 59 and the rain will continue to shift to the east throughout the rest of the afternoon. Most areas across central Alabama will see drier weather heading through the evening.

The front has made it through central Alabama as well. The winds have shifted from the north at Birmingham, Tuscaloosa and Anniston. The front will continue to drop south across Alabama today and is expected to stall out near Interstate 10 tonight. Dew points are falling behind the front as well and that means drier air and weather will be taking over across the state.
