The weather will be very nice through the weekend, with sunny pleasant days and fair cool nights. Highs 80 to 84, lows 55 to 60 in most communities. Makes it very easy in the weather office.

NEXT WEEK: A weak front will stall and dissipate just north of Alabama… it could bring a shower to the northwest corner of the state Sunday night, but odds of measurable rain down in our part of the state remain very small. Somebody, somewhere might see a brief shower Monday or Tuesday, but the risk is so small I have left it out of the forecast for now. Next week looks generally dry with highs in the 80s and lows in the 60s as we kick off the month of October.

FOOTBALL WEATHER: Dry and pleasant for the high school football games tonight; the sky will be clear with temperatures falling through the 70s, reaching the 60s by the fourth quarter in many stadiums around here.

Tomorrow, Alabama hosts Ole Miss (5:30p CT kickoff) at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa. The sky will be clear; about 80 degrees at kickoff, with temperatures falling through the 70s during the game.

UAB is in Nashville to take on the Vanderbilt Commodores tomorrow evening (6:30p CT kickoff); clear weather is the story there as well with temperatures falling from near 76 at kickoff, into the 60s by the fourth quarter.

Samford and Jacksonville State both have afternoon home games tomorrow; the weather will be great with lots of sun and kickoff temperatures in the low 80s at Birmingham and Jacksonville.

GULF COAST WEATHER: Sunny days, fair nights through the weekend. Highs in the 80s from Panama City over to Gulf Shores.

TROPICS: No sign of development with the wave over the Central Atlantic, and tropical storm formation is not expected through the weekend.

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 90 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40.
