A rain shield continues to move east across Alabama this afternoon. The heavier activity today has been south of Interstate 20 corridor, between Birmingham and Montgomery. No severe storms, but some locations are seeing heavy rain and gusty winds. This area of rain will continue to push east for the rest of the afternoon.
Scattered showers remain along the Mississippi state line and these showers will head east as well. As we head throughout the evening, the rain should begin to taper off as the cold front that is responsible for this unsettled weather heads off into Georgia.
