**No afternoon Weather Xtreme video today; I am live from “Boo at the Zoo” on ABC 33/40 News at 4, 5, and 6:00**
WARM DAYS, PLEASANT NIGHTS: Alabama’s weather will stay dry through the weekend, with partly to mostly sunny days, and fair nights. Highs will be in the 80-83 degree range for most communities, with lows between 55 and 60.
NEXT WEEK: Still dry Monday and Tuesday… the 12Z GFS brings in a band of showers late Wednesday and Wednesday night ahead of a cold front…
And, the GFS still brings in much colder air at the end of next week, and the following weekend (October 18-21)…
FOOTBALL WEATHER: No rain problems for high school football again this week; a clear sky tonight with temperatures falling through the 60s during the games.
Auburn hosts Western Carolina tomorrow at 1:00; the sky will be mostly sunny with a kickoff temperature near 80 degrees; low 80s are possible by halftime. Alabama is on the road; they will visit the Kentucky Wildcats tomorrow evening (6:00p CT kickoff)… the sky will be clear. About 68 degrees at kickoff; 50s are likely by the final whistle.
The weather will also cooperate for Jacksonville State’s homecoming game against Tennessee State tomorrow (3p CT kickoff)… lots of sun with 81 degrees at kickoff; temperatures will fall into the 70s during the second half.
GULF COAST WEATHER: Perfect weather through Sunday with sunny warm days and fair cool nights from Panama City to Gulf Shores. Highs in the low 80s; lows in the 60s. Should be hard to find a decent cloud in the sky this weekend during the National Shrimp Festival at Gulf Shores. The sea water temperature this morning at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab is 75 degrees.
TROPICS: The disturbance over the East Atlantic remains disorganized. On the other side of the planet, Cyclone Phailin is headed for the southeast coast of India; it is the equivalent of a category 4/5 hurricane, and could produce catastrophic damage and loss of life when it moves inland in about 18-24 hours. See the Weather Xtreme video for a look at this big storm.
