Many areas across Central Alabama started the day off with moderate rain showers that made for a rather wet and messy commute this morning. The rain continues to fall in many areas but is shifting to the east and southeast. Nearly all areas north and west of Interstate 59 have seen the last of the rain, while areas south and east of it will see a few more hours of the wet stuff.

Currently, some of the more intense activity is affecting Talladega, Shelby, Perry, Marengo and Dallas Counties. Heading through out the rest of the day, the rain will continue to taper off from west to east across the state. The clouds will hang around and temperatures should drop today as the cold front finally starts passing through the area. There could be a few peeks of sunshine across western potions of the state late this afternoon, but more than likely clearing will not occur until the overnight hours. A few clouds could be left around in the morning, but Friday will be a mostly sunny and beautiful fall day across the state.
