A short wave trough in the mid-levels is crossing the Southeast and is the reason that clouds have developed today. The clouds will hang around through the afternoon and into the evening hours. There could even be a few sprinkles fall from these clouds, but for the most part, most locations will stay dry. The clouds are mostly confined to the northern half of the state.
Where the clouds are, the temperatures are hovering around the 60 degree mark. Farther south, where the sun is out, highs have made it into the upper 60s and 70s. The clouds will continue to overspread the state from the west as this upper-level feature works across the region.
