Big thunder boomers continue over several parts of Alabama early this evening. Most of the stronger ones were over the eastern part of the state, but not all. Based on radar and lightning detection equipment, here is a quick list of some of the stronger storms:

* Over Jackson County in NE Alabama between Huntsville and Scottsboro.

* Southern Calhoun, North Talladega, North Clay and SW Cleburne Counties in East Alabama.

* Extreme NW Alabama in Lauderdale County.

* East part of Elmore County.

* SE Alabama–Coffee and Geneva Counties.

* NWS has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Bullock and Macon Counties until 7:30.

Overall, the thunderstorms are declining in intensity and number, but don’t take that for granted. They can recharge again.

We are also watching a big glob of thunderstorms over NW Mississippi occurring over 8 or 10 counties. These, too, are moving toward the SE, but we feel sure they will get tired before reaching Alabama.

A FEW EARLY RAIN REPORTS
1.09 Concord/Hueytown
1.65 Hueytown (Near high school)
1.15 SE Trussville (on the ridge)
1.10 Trussville (Skywatcher Jason Reed)
2.00 Moody (they got 3/4 of an inch yesterday, too)
0.71 South Trussville (Bill Murray’s home)
1.60 Oxford (in only 40 minutes)

We will compile a longer list of rain amounts around 8 o’clock or so.
