* The Severe Thunderstorm Warning for North Fayette and West/Central Walker County expired at 8:00 p.m.

* Around 7:45 a lady driving through the storm reported nickel-size hail just east of Winfield.

* NWS/Birmingham has replaced the warning with a Significant Weather Alert for Fayette and Walker Counties and expanded it to include Marion County. This was based on a strong thunderstorm near Eldridge in the NW edge of Walker County or about 7 miles west of Carbon Hill moving east at 20. This storm still has the capability of producing small hail and winds up to 40 mph. Communities still in the path of the storm include Eldridge, Kansas, Carbon Hill, Holly Grove and Lupton.

* NWS/Huntsville posted a Significant Weather Alert for Jackson and Madison Counties in extreme NE Alabama until 8:45. That big thunderstorm between Huntsville and Scottsboro sems to be redeveloping almost in the same spot. It also extends far enough south to get the NE edge of Marshall County about 15 miles NE of Guntersville.

* Around the rest of the state, thundertorms are slowly calming their nerves, especially the ones over SE Alabama. The two strongest storms are the ones mentioned above in extreme NE Alabama and the one over the NW tip of Walker County.

* Lots of showers and some thunderstorms still over North Mississippi, but they have decreased in strength in the last hour and we are optimistic that they may not cause additional warnings for NW Alabama when they get here.
