Much of Central Alabama continues to see moderate to heavy rainfall this morning. Luckily, the severe weather threat has almost completely dissipated. We are however watching for areas of flash flooding that could develop.
There are some stronger storms embedded in the overall rain shield. Lightning, rumbles of thunder, and gusty winds are still occurring across much of Central Alabama. The overall rain band continues to push east while the individual storms are lifting towards the northeast.
Currently, there is no severe weather in the state, and it looks as though we will make it through the rest of the night without any severe storms.
We are finally seeing the back edge of the rain crossing the state line and is moving through Pickens and Lamar Counties. Many area will see the rain persist a few more hours.
