Another house fire due to lightning late this afternoon. Seems like that has happened more often this year but it may be my imagination.

At 5:47 late this afternoon, a house was engulfed in flames due to lightning in the community of Seale in Russell County.

Some of the strongest storms in the state late this afternoon were from near Montgomery eastward to the Phenix City area.

At 5:55 pm, NWS, Birmingham pointed out that a line of thunderstorms extending from Tuskegee to Milbrook was moving SE at 11 mph and maybe causing wind gusts to 45 mph and frequent lightning. NWS posted a Special Weather Statement concerning those storms until 6:45 pm for these counties:

Bullock
Elmore
Macon
Montgomery
