It is not a bad looking Saturday across much of the state, but we continue to see slow clearing today, especially over the northeastern counties. The clouds are associated with a short-wave trough that brought the showers and storms last night across the state. This feature is lifting out of the area and the uplift associated with it will be leaving too. That should help get most of the clouds to clear out this afternoon and give most locations more sun than clouds.
We can see quite the temperatures range across the state today as a result of the cloud cover. Where it has cleared, we are seeing a rapid rise in temps. Where the sun is out, it is much warmer as temperatures in the 60s and 70s are filling in the ole weather map. The clouds across northeastern portions of the state are making for a slow warm up as many areas are still hovering in the lower 50s. For this afternoon, as the skies begin to clear in these areas, most locations should at least make it into the 60s for afternoon highs.
