DRY THROUGH TOMORROW: Alabama’s weather won’t change much through tomorrow. Dry days, highs in the 75-80 degree range. Lots of sun with a few high thin cirrus clouds around.

THE WEEKEND: Moisture levels begin to rise Saturday, but it still looks like most of the day will be rain-free with just a few isolated showers around. Best chance of rain will come on Sunday, but this won’t be an all-day rain. Periods of rain are likely Sunday with potential for some thunder, but no risk of severe storms. Expect a high in the upper 70s Saturday, followed by low 70s Sunday.

NEXT WEEK: Monday and Tuesday look generally dry with just a small risk of a shower both days. Then, a dynamic weather system arrives at mid-week with rain and thunderstorms late Wednesday into Thursday. The amount of surface based instability is the big question; still too early to know if severe thunderstorms will be an issue, but it is certainly possible. Rain amounts of 1-2 inches are expected.

Drier, cooler air returns at the end of the week on Friday… See the video briefing for maps, graphics, and more details.

TROPICS: All remains quiet across the Atlantic basin; tropical storm formation is not expected for at least the next 7-10 days.

South Alabama hosts Louisiana Tech Saturday afternoon (2:00p CT kickoff)… expect a mix of sun and clouds with just a small risk of a shower. Temperatures will fall from around 80 degrees during the first half into the upper 70s by the fourth quarter.
