Most of the north half of Alabama free of showers and storms as lower dew points spread in from the north overnight. (I am a dew point guy–it means so much more than relative humidity)

However, a small, but heavy shower, and maybe some lightning was passing south of Trussville and moving SE toward Leeds.

By far, the most important showers and thunderstorms were affecting Marengo and Sumter County in West Alabama where the NWS has a Significant Weather Alert until 3:30. This family of storms may produce gusts to 40 and way too much lightning along with downpours of rain. These areas in the path:

Livingston
U.S. 80 and Alabama Highway 28
Jefferson (the community of Jefferson–not Jefferson County)
Demopolis.

Other widely scattered storms were over south Alabama
