Scattered showers and thunderstorms continue to develop this afternoon. By far, most of them are over North/Central and NE Alabama. The ones producing the heaviest rain and the most lightning returns were from Cullman County northeastward.

Some locations in Cullman, Blount, Marshall, Jackson and DeKalb Counties were getting locally heavy amounts of rain. They continue to move toward the SE and some of the showers and storms will be moving into St. Clair and North Jefferson County within the next hour.

There was also a group of showers and storms in East Mississippi midway between Columbus and Meridian. Some of those were already in West Alabama’s Sumter and Choctaw Counties. Those two are moving SE.
