This afternoon, we are seeing strong and severe storms across Central Mississippi. Several of these storms are supercells with rotation aloft right now. Currently there are no tornado warned storms. These storms are producing large hail and damaging winds. Storms will continue to move east-northeast through the afternoon and will be approaching West-Central Alabama this evening.
Additional storms will be developing to our west. With the dynamics of the atmosphere today, storms are reaching severe limits rapidly and we may begin to see some tornado warnings issued. Along with the severe weather threat, these storms will be producing frequent lightning as well as torrential rainfall. Flash flooding could occur, and remember all counties in Central Alabama are under a flash flood watch until Wednesday morning.
