Rain was widespread across North Alabama early this afternoon. It was generally light to moderate and most of it from Birmingham northward.
However, to the south thunderstorms had moved into Southwest Alabama, especially in an area from near Meridian, Mississippi southeastward into Marengo, Wilcox, Monroe and Conecuh Counties. There is lots of lightning with those storms. They, too, were moving generally eastward, maybe a little bit more ENE. Some of this heavier rain will be moving into Greene, Hale and Perry Counties.
The Storm Prediction Center maintains a Slight Risk of severe weather for the remainder of this afternoon and tonight, mainly for the south half of Alabama. Rain will be getting heavier as we go through the remainder of this afternoon and tonight.
