An isolated but strong thunderstorm was centered at 6:15 pm near where Tuscaloosa, Walker and Jefferson County join. This is about 10 miles west of Birmingport and near Bankhead Lake.
Moving west. Heavy downpours as it moves across the extreme north edge of Tuscaloosa County.
Several strong storms in Madison County prompted the NWS to post a Significant Weather Alert until 6:30. Downpours and wind gusts to 40.
Another moderate to strong storm over South Hale County in West Alabama was near Cedarville southwest of Greensboro. (You should see the number of cedar trees in that community!)
Still another one along the Wilcox/Monroe County line.
