As noted by Mr. Murray, Fay has moved into the northern edge of Apalachee Bay and was located just a little east of due south of Tallahassee. The center seems to have organized a bit based on the look on radar.
Places like Sopchoppy, Carabelle, East Point, St. George Sound, Apalachicola Bay, and Apalachicola will be feeling the brunt of Fay during the next several hours as she makes the fourth landfall in the US – counting Key West as the first!! And I know that is all up for debate!!
The pressure seems to be holding steady very close to 1000 millibars. And the best pressure falls over the last two hours seem to be along and just offshore from Panama City. So the slow westward trek is likely to continue for much of the overnight hours.
Rainfall continues to mount up. Tallahassee which had only gotten a bit over an inch two hours ago is now approaching three inches. Perry is also over three inches. Some spots along the coast between Sopchoppy and Perry may have had more than 5 inches of rain according to the storm total precipitation estimates from the Tallahassee WSR-88D.
Rain was now falling lightly in Southeast Alabama from Phenix City to Dothan with some heavier rain about to edge into the state.
More on Fay with updates throughout the night.
