This was a very unusual weather day in Alabama–especially for summer.
This afternoon, all 67 counties in Alabama were under some type of watch or warning. Either:
Flash Flood Watch
Flash Flood Warning
Tornado Watch
Tornado Warning
It has been that way most of today. At times, a number of counties were affected by 2 or 3 of the above at the same time. I don’t remember seeing a single Severe Thunderstorm Warning. Reason: There were no thunderstorms–or hardly any. These were low topped storms but still strong enough to cause a small tornado to spin up.
Things completely absent from the Alabama weather menu today:
Blowing Dust
Fire Advisory (Red Flag Warning)
Ozone Alert
Heat Advisory
I love a rainy day and I had my fill…
