There are a few breaks in the clouds over portions of southern Mississippi and Alabama, but the majority of the state and the Southeast are socked in with clouds and overcast skies. The cloud cover spreads well west of the state as the main clearing line is along the Interstate 35 corridor near Oklahoma City and Dallas. The clouds will hang around into the evening and overnight hours, but will finally begin to clear out of here during the day tomorrow.
After the soaking rain this morning, most of Alabama is drying out, with the exception being the far southeastern part of the state near Dothan. Most locations are mild this afternoon as temperatures are hanging in the 50s. As a front crosses the state, temperatures will be falling and we can see evidence of that with lower 40s across northern Mississippi and 40s are now creeping into northwestern portions of the state. It is very warm across southern portions of the state where 60s and 70s are widespread. The rain is over for the most part, but there could be a few very light showers and areas of drizzle the next few hours.
