A Report From Elmore County

Good evening! I used to intern with James back at WBRC and finished my meteorology degree at Miss State, so I definitely appreciate all you guys are doing keeping the state safe.
Thought I’d report in – the storm that just passed over Millbrook in western Elmore County dropped quarter to golf ball size hail (not good for my car’s paint). As the gust front came through I didn’t have any way to measure the wind, but it was strong enough that several large trees were being bent almost in half. Frequent lightning. Once the hail core passed I could see distinct rotation in the storm passing just north of Millbrook, paralleling highway 14. There was a very slight base lowering, though from the angle I had I couldn’t tell how much. I did not see any signs of a funnel, however.
